Music
I am blessed to being related to and friends with many fine musicians.
I have permission to use their music for many of the videos I have created for YouTube, and are in this Blog.
I have always appreciated the talent and courage it takes to step upon a stage and entertain a group of strangers with your original work.
There is some information about each of the groups and musicians I have found locally and my brother’s band below. I have included their websites or contact information if you would like to enjoy more of their music.
I find that when you add dance to any natural healing path, you have more fun and will soon find that music can help heal your body, mind and spirit. Music helps you find balance in your life and transform your stiff body into one filled with motion.
Diffusing an essential oil that fits your mood for dancing can help you transform your thoughts and help you relax into the rhythm of the music.
If you are depressed, try diffusing Lavender, Chamomile or Young Livings Essential Oil blend called “Joy”.
You can rub Rose essential oil or Young Livings essential oil blend called Gratitude on your heart chakra to help you feel more appreciative of life and enjoy the music and talent of local songwriters and musicians even more.
If you are tired, dab a bit of Peppermint Essential Oil under your nose and at the back of your neck and put on some lively rock and roll music to get your body moving.

I grew up with a brother, Tom Wright, who played in a band since he entered Libertyville High School in Illinois.
When he moved to Oregon for College, it wasn’t long before he was playing again. His best friend and incredible keyboard player Bobby Rause moved to Oregon and they have been playing together ever since.
Although Parish Gap, formerly called The Dreamers, has been an active Oregon band in the Corvallis area for about 30 years. The name Parish Gap is a reference to local geography, as it is the name of a road in the Jefferson/Turner area.
Tom and Rause both sing. Tom plays guitar and harmonica and Rause covers keyboards and bass. Rause also runs a recording studio called Frankenstein’s Lab.
The pair has grounded the band’s fluctuating talent lineup over the decades as the main songwriters and with experience earned from countless hours spent on various stages in many venues around the country.
Drummer Steve Down played with the band about 28 years ago, took a several-year hiatus and has recently rejoined the band.
The band’s youngest member and only female, Catherine Wright, is a student at Oregon State University student. She is also Tom’s daughter.
Catherine tells the story of how she joined the band. “Tom tried to get me to start singing when I was 12.” When Catherine was 13 years old, she promised her dad she’d start singing for the band when she was 16, thinking that age seemed a long way off. When those three years were up, her father wasted no time in reminding her of her long-forgotten promise. “She was a natural and I started when I was sixteen also.”
Catherine owes her singing abilities to years of vocal work, voice lessons and, of course, genetics. She rocks the stage with her voice and energy.
“We get our most personal satisfaction from playing this music,” Tom Wright said. “We all have regular jobs, but we really feel best when we’re on stage playing music.”
The band plays everything from classic rock to easy listening, jazz to folk and blues to country – covering popular tunes by artists such as Fleetwood Mac, Men at Work, The Doors, Aerosmith, Van Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan and Journey. In addition, they play many original songs they have written.
The band fancies itself a bit of an art rock group, gravitating toward songs that have “huge, mood-evoking presence.” Their music is going to capture your mind. It’s about having a journey through song and they play many different varieties of music.
The group has one CD of original music out titled “You and I” and is working on another to be released soon. “Almost every time we’ve played a new song for the first time, we get people coming up to us and asking who the song is by, not realizing that it is an original,” Catherine said.
The group’s CD can be purchased at concerts or by contacting Tom Wright.
Remember to always “Be the Best You Can”

Balance copywrite 4-2010
east and west, dark and light
duality seems to fill my sight
show me the reason the world seems split
there is no division when you get down to the heart of it
Refrain:
Balance Balance the give and take the ebb and flow
Balance Balance the sun and moon fast and slow
Balance Balance yin and yang we need them both
Balance Balance together that is how we grow.
Verse 2:
Male and female, fire and water
apposing forces melting in laughter
gravity pulls you, an eternal embrace
so what will you do, will you crawl or walk with grace

Edith Makes a Paperchain has been described as gypsy folk, indie rock, power pop and haunted circus music.
They have just released their second CD, and its full of great music!
The group formed in 2006, with Sarah Hope (guitar, vocals), Melissa Joy (Upright bass), and Hilary Studebaker (Violin, Viola, vocals) who had all played with Cahalen David Morrison. When he left for India, the band played on and thus “Edith” was formed. Later came members Matt Chmielarczyk (Mandolin, guitar, ukelele), Aimee Spillane (Drums) and Jeremy Van Hoy (brass, egg).
Their various talents and musical instruments all come together in various lineups to share their delightful melodies and original approach to music.
Their indie rock music combined with a comforting traditional folk sound is really fun to listen and dance to at a concert or in your home.
Band Members: Sarah Hope (guitar and vocals), Hilary Studebaker (fiddle, viola, vocals), Matt Chmielarczyk (mandolin, guitars, uke), Melissa Joy (upright bass, vocals), Jeremy VanHoy (brass), Aimee Spillane (drums).
